O’Cuty Nail Trimmer

Designed with Care for the Elderly and Children

In this O’Cuty Nail Trimmer case study, our team worked together to create a modern nail trimmer designed to be safe, simple, and comfortable for both children and seniors. From design to engineering, we handled every part of the process to make sure the product looked appealing, felt natural to hold, and functioned smoothly.

This project was part of our ongoing research into safer and more effective baby and toddler product development.

Solving a Common Problem

Our idea began with a simple question: “Why should nail clippers be difficult or awkward to hold for people who need them the most?” After studying how parents trim their children’s nails and how seniors often struggle with grip strength or poor visibility, we saw a clear opportunity to improve comfort, control, and confidence during use.

We explored gentle shapes, quiet motors, and soft-touch materials to create something approachable and intuitive. Drawing inspiration from natural elements and modern concepts, we built a design that’s both familiar and fresh.

Built Entirely In House

Our team guided the entire development process from early sketching and digital modeling to prototype testing and final adjustments. With in-house designers, engineers, and 3D printing capabilities, we moved quickly while maintaining full control over quality and function.

This fully integrated workflow is part of what makes our end-to-end development process so effective. Each detail—from part tolerances to button placement—was thoughtfully refined to meet the needs of real users.

More Than Just a Product

We designed not just the trimmer but the full user experience including packaging, branding, and instructions. These were all created to match the product’s clean and friendly design language. The result is a cohesive, modern presentation that feels accessible to parents, caregivers, and seniors alike.

Our work in industrial design often includes visual communication and packaging design to ensure the product feels just as intuitive on the shelf as it does in the hand.

The Result

The O’Cuty Nail Trimmer Case Study is a prime example of how our team approaches innovation: with care, curiosity, and a focus on real-world use. It’s a smart, functional solution designed to make life easier for the people who need it most.
