Helping Babies Develop Better Motor Skills
The Learning Spoon was developed in close collaboration with VIIDA to support early self-feeding and motor skill development in babies and toddlers. Recognizing that most children struggle to grip and control utensils until around age three, we set out to design a solution that empowers independent eating as early as one year old. The spoon’s form supports both fist and tripod grips, helping strengthen hand muscles while encouraging proper technique.

Reducing Components Through Smarter Design
Due to the symmetry of VIIDA’s existing metal spoon, we were able to design the silicone sleeve to serve a dual purpose—as both an ergonomic grip and a protective cover. This was important to our team because it added functionality without introducing extra parts, making the product easier to use, clean, and store while maintaining a minimalist, child-friendly design.

Designed With Color in Mind
Our color choices align closely with VIIDA’s brand identity of being soft, modern, and approachable. Each pastel tone was selected to create a playful yet calming experience, appealing to both parents and children. The palette gently engages a child’s natural curiosity while maintaining a clean, refined look that fits seamlessly into today’s homes.

The Final Result
This project was the result of a close and creative collaboration with the VIIDA team—one built on shared values of safety, quality, and intentional design. Working together from concept through production, we aligned on every detail to ensure the spoon reflected both VIIDA’s brand identity and the practical needs of modern families.
