Portable Precision Grooming
Our team collaborated with Flawless to develop a portable hair trimmer and stubble remover. The device our client envisioned needed to be pocketable, sleek and effective enough to trim hair in a single pass. The product also needed to be dermatologist approved and not leave behind any nicks, cuts or bumps.
Inspired by Everyday Objects
Since this product was likely going to be used in workplace or travel scenarios, we wanted the trimmer to be streamlined like a pen. The familiar shape would allow the device more intuitive to hold and operate. The rose gold accent color was chosen to give a feeling of luxury and femininity.
Consideration of Additional Features
Our team also incorporated a built-in light for users to highlight target areas for shaving. This helps to ensure accurate trimming sessions even in low light environments where it may be easy to miss a stray hair or patch of stubble.
18 Karat Gold Plating
The gold plating for the trimmer head was specifically chosen to avoid allergies to common metals and improve durability for continuous use. Additionally, 18-karat gold offers superior resistance to corrosion and wear, making it ideal for skin-contact devices exposed to moisture, oils, and frequent cleaning.
Finalizing Production Details
We worked closely with our factory team to ensure smooth production. This included DFM, reviewing injection material, and making last-minute tweaks. After production of a sample batch, we conducted several tests according to the clients needs including durability and drop tests.
